Jan Pergl, Franz Essl, Marten Winter & Petr Pysek made it this year (some of them are since many years on this list ;O) into the list of the Highly Cited Researchers (provided by Thomson Reuters). CONGRATS!!!!! but…
…this is of course also based on the great great collaborations in GloNAF and its resulting highly cited papers in its field. (check for their methods here).
THANKS to GloNAF collaborators for this!!! 🙂
Bernd Lenzner, one of the main collaborators in GloNAF working on “Investigating patterns and processes of global alien plant diversity and assembly” succesfully defend his PhD thesis in Vienna!
A HUGE CONGRATS to you Bernd from GloNAF!!!! This makes Bernd to the first “real” Dr. GloNAF 🙂
(c) “GloNAF’s” Franz Essl (one of his main supervisors)
As always planned we finally published the GloNAF data. Please check the online early version of our Ecology data paper which here.
You can find the data with proper meta data description either in the data portal of iDiv (German Centre for Integrative Biodiversity Research) or in the supplement of the paper.
GloNAF core research Marten Winter gave recently a TEDx talk about alien species and also used results produced by the GloNAF team.
Veronika Kalusová lead a great new study in PNAS including GloNAF data and researchers among the authors. Congratulations & well done!
We found that a broad habitat range together with human-induced disturbance experienced in native-range habitats can increase a species’ chance of becoming naturalized in other parts of the world.
You can also see her speaking about it on Czech TV (starts at 1:11:00 hr).
Petr Pyšek talks about GloNAF work and results in the Czech TV (it starts at 20:00 min).
AND Veronika Kalusová presents her great work (recently published in PNAS including GloNAF data and researchers) also on Czech TV (starts at 1:11:00 hr).
Best informed country now 🙂
Petr Pyšek & Jan Pergl are among the top cited researchers in 2017! Congratulations! It also means that GloNAF results are highyl visible and used for more exciting research.
Finally, we published an open access overview paper in Preslia, including very new analyses regarding taxonomic, phylogenetic and biogeographic patterns of the global alien flora. See here.
The cross taxa paper is out! See here in Nature Ecology & Evolution. See also the paper featured at the BBC website
