Jan Pergl, Franz Essl, Marten Winter & Petr Pysek made it this year (some of them are since many years on this list ;O) into the list of the Highly Cited Researchers (provided by Thomson Reuters).  CONGRATS!!!!! but…

…this is of course also based on the great great collaborations in GloNAF and its resulting highly cited papers in its field. (check for their methods here).

Bernd Lenzner, one of the main collaborators in GloNAF working on “Investigating patterns and processes of global alien plant diversity and assembly”  succesfully defend his PhD thesis in Vienna!
A HUGE CONGRATS to you Bernd from GloNAF!!!! This makes Bernd to the first “real” Dr. GloNAF 🙂

new GloNAF paper in PNAS

Veronika Kalusová lead a great new study in PNAS including GloNAF data and researchers among the authors. Congratulations & well done!
We found that a broad habitat range together with human-induced disturbance experienced in native-range habitats can increase a species’ chance of becoming naturalized in other parts of the world.
